Appraisal Review Board
The Appraisal Review Board (ARB) is a quasi judicial board to hear and resolve disputes over protest and challenges filed in regard to property tax issues. ARB's are separate from the Appraisal District and have no authority over the operations of the appraisal district.
Appraisal Review Board has limited authority defined
by Texas Law in making final determinations after hearing evidence
from the appraisal district and property owner. A member of the
ARB commits a Class C misdemeanor if the member
communicates with the chief appraiser, another employee or property
owner outside a current hearing specific evidence, argument, facts,
merits or property scheduled for hearing.
The Appraisal Review Board serves two year terms and is appointed by the Appraisal District Board of Directors.
